Who are we hiring?
The Manager of Custodial Services is responsible for the planning and execution of all Custodial and employee management. This position is also responsible for overseeing building requirements for all events taking place at MSG Arena & Theater. The Manager will interface with Multiple venue departments to ensure that the Custodial team is providing the highest level of service while prioritizing daily event needs and orchestrating activities to maximize labor productivity.
What do you need to succeed?
- Responsible for maintaining a first-class facility operation. Manage and care for all aspects of the physical facility with a goal of establishing a high level of facility appearance, functionality and operational standards
- Perform daily inspections of Arena & Theater to ensure the Custodial Department are meeting requirements of the scope of work, and reporting back to the Director, Custodial Services.
- Establish policies and procedures for Custodial department.
- Responsible for managing inventory reports, billing, and execution of pick-ups and deliveries.
- Manage custodial service budgets and maintain all inventory for cleaning supplies; purchase any equipment used in various cleaning processes.
- Work closely with the People Practices team for purposes of payroll, scheduling, corrective actions, LOA’s etc.
- Oversee the hiring, training and performance evaluation of all custodial staff.
- Ensure work orders directed towards the Custodial Department are completed in a timely manner.
- Act as Manager On-Duty (MOD) for events held at MSG Arena & Theater.
- Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this role, you must have:
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of Custodial/Facility Management experience.
- Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
- The ideal Candidate will have exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under time constraints.
- Must maintain friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor toward customers, clients and co-workers.
- Experience Supervising and working with Union & Non-Union staff; experience reading CBA’s a plus.
- Make recommendations to upper management for staff applying for FT roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of 24/7 Software (work order system) a plus. Knowledge of COUPA (business spend management) a plus.
SUPERVISION:
The role will also have oversight of:
- PT and FT Custodial Staff
- Restroom Attendants
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24-hours, 7 days a week environment.
- Extensive walking, bending, lifting (25-50 lbs) and office work (sitting) is essential to the role.
