Who are we hiring?
The Captain is responsible for the safe conduct of flights as assigned, serving as the Pilot in Command on MSG Aviation controlled fixed wing aircraft. The Captain ensures compliance with all Federal, state, local and foreign regulations by the flight crew and aircraft. The Captain is expected to act in accordance with all policies and procedures as specified in the MSG Aviation Flight Operations Manual (FOM). As the most visible department representative of MSG Aviation to the client passengers, the Captain consistently acts with tact and decorum while ensuring an efficient and safe operation.
What will you do?
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety within MSG Aviation by adhering to efficient procedures that support exceptional customer service.
- Serve as the Pilot in Command (PIC) when assigned as Captain, having the final authority for the operation of the aircraft.
- Earn the respect and trust of passengers and flight department colleagues through professionalism and sound judgment; be recognized as a technical expert on assigned aircraft, including aircraft operations and the maintenance interface.
- Study weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points, and make appropriate weather-related mission making decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination as operating conditions dictate.
- Provide excellent customer service to passengers consistent with applicable government regulations and MSG Aviation’s flight standards as documented in the Flight Operations Manual (FOM).
- Ensure that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passenger.
- Meet schedules and other directives governing the aircraft's operation consistent with applicable government regulations and MSG Aviation’s flight standards as documented in the Flight Operations Manual (FOM), all SOPs including the diligent and appropriate use of aircraft checklists.
- Prepare and or is responsible for ensuring accurate and appropriate flight plans and contingency plans.
- Reviews and calculates the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts.
- Ensure preflight inspections are completed thoroughly and in accordance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and coordinate flight and cabin crew performance by fostering a cohesive team environment, sharing knowledge, mentoring crewmembers, and assessing potential for advancement; serve as an active mentor within MSG Aviation and the broader Business Aviation community.

- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelors degree in business, Business Aviation, Safety, Operations Management or equivalent
- Knowledge of the aircraft they shall command, client service expectations and skills, CFRs, ICAO Standards, applicable to International Jurisdiction Regulations, CSC Transport SOPs and Meteorological Science.
- Previous experience operating in 14 CFR Part 91 required, with a thorough understanding of 14 CFR Part 91 and ICAO Standard, while some experience in 14 CFR Part 135 environments will be considered
- Must have an unmarred track record of maintaining excellent working relationships with the FAA and aviation training providers
- Must hold and be able to maintain valid FAA Class I medical.
- Possess a strong technical background
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Special Requirements
- The minimum flight time requirements are 5000 hours total time, 2000 hours turbine time, 1500 hours Pilot in Command and 500 hours in type of aircraft make and model to be commanded.
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule including nights, split days off, and work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment.
- Be able to respond, react to on demand unscheduled trip and be wheels-up within 3 hours of first call
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.) during outdoor patrols/stationed assignments
- Adequate vision (with or without corrective lenses), including Night or low-light visibility
