Premium Food & Merchandise Supervisor

The Premium Food & Merchandise Supervisor ensures an exceptional guest experience throughout the Premium levels of the MSG Arena by leading and directing front-line colleagues. The Supervisor collaborates across functions to achieve business results and reacts as needed within a fast paced and dynamic environment. Success in this role is demonstrated by an exceptional guest experience, a commitment to continuous learning and development, and achievement of business results.

What will you do?

  • Accountable for daily supervision and leadership of front-line colleagues in premium F&B outlets such as suites, lounges, clubs, restaurant, and catering; takes ownership of assigned locations and maintains a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment; oversees event-related custodial operations.
  • Completes front-line staff assignments consistent with event staffing levels and promptly escalates any concerns or shortages.
  • Manages the content and delivery of pre-shift meetings; communicates event-related information and ensures front-line staff is informed and following event instructions.
  • Ensures front-line staff compliance of Company policies and local/state regulations
  • Manages daily physical inventory (i.e., counting, wastes, transfers, placing orders); completes monthly inventory counts.
  • Proactively identifies and recommends solutions to departmental challenges.
  • Addresses customer concerns, feedback, and suggestions in a timely and efficient manner, offers recovery solutions and escalates as appropriate.
  • Promotes a team first atmosphere by collaborating with all colleagues in multiple departments; partners with culinary team to ensure quality of food product being served.
  • Models company values by demonstrating a positive attitude, operating with high energy and through achievement of company objectives and goals.
  • Ensures that front line colleagues are engaged, upbeat, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
  • Assesses, evaluates, and provides consistent, fair, and timely feedback to front-line colleagues through various methods (i.e., coaching, mentoring, one on one).
  • Supervision of front line staff members.

What do you need to succeed?

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of Food & Beverage supervisory experience
  • Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
  • Experience in Point of Sale (POS), purchasing and inventory systems.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams and to build collaborative relationships that motivate and encourage performance even without direct reporting relationship.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with all levels in the organization in a variety of settings and group sizes.
  • Adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group.
  • Demonstrated experience completing reports and coaching staff.
  • Proactive self-starter with proven ability to manage multiple tasks while under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable employing sound business judgement to manage conflict and resolve guest concerns with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience within Sports & Entertainment, theater operations, Custodial/Housekeeping or event planning is preferred.
  • Experience managing union staff preferred.

Special Requirements

  • NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Food Protection Certificate.
  • Lifting 25 lbs., standing for long periods and walking long distances.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holiday, and split days off; willing to travel to other venues as needed.

Hourly Pay Range
$35$35 USD
