Security Supervisor & Driver

The Security Supervisor and Driver will be accountable for providing an exceptional guest experience throughout MSG’s venues as it relates to event or building security. This role will focus on partnering within Venues, and across functions, to get work done through others in a fast paced and dynamic environment.  Success in this role is demonstrated by creating a safe and secure environment without sacrificing an exceptional guest experience, committing to continuous learning and development, and achieving business results. The Security Supervisor will report into the Sphere Security Manager. 

What will you do?

  • Accountable for daily supervision and leadership of security officers.
  • Lead and develop front line colleagues ensuring employees are engaged, upbeat, and capable of delivering exceptional guest experiences in a safe and secure environment. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company objectives, especially in emergency situations and times of crisis. 
  • Provides logistical support and transportation of Executives, high-profile clients, guests, and family members.
  • Execute proactive measures to ensure the safety of the client, i.e. advance work, research, collection of applicable information.
  • Ability to check traffic, road conditions and plan alternate routes to ensure an on-time arrival.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle (interior and exterior)
  • Maintains a travel log and any additional billing information/notes as needed. 
  • Assess, train, evaluate, and coach front line colleagues utilizing previous experience and company provided programs.   
  • Responsible for various administration items such as scheduling, invoices, incident reports, daily reports, and documentation logs. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that security office space and equipment is prepared to support security operations. Works with adjacent teams to address maintenance, custodial, and facility issues and improvements. 
  • Addresses customer concerns, feedback and suggestions in a timely and efficient manner 
  • May be tasked with managing or supporting additional security programs that facilitate security operations such as equipment inventory, conducting security advances and walkthroughs for visiting VIP’s, improving team processes, completing long term projects, and representing security leadership to other internal teams.   
  • Perform other general security duties as needed to support the Threat Management division. 

What do you need to succeed?

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ supervisory experience in the security, law enforcement, or military field, and preferably have knowledge of events, sports, theatre operations, within an entertainment venue.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive prior law enforcement and/or corporate security experience, substantial executive chauffeur experience and be extremely familiar with the local area. 
  • Strict confidentiality, professionalism, dependability and situational sensitivity is essential.
  • Candidates must show demonstrated experience interfacing with high level executives from diverse arenas (C-Suite Executive relations is essential), excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.  
  • Able to schedule and manage intricate travel arrangements and anticipate all contingencies. 
  • Previous security experience required, prior service as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. military responsible for leading small units, training, and managing others would be ideal. 
  • Candidates who have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred. 
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to mobilize key stakeholders, and engage with all levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience completing reports and documenting staff performance is essential.
  • Ability to engage and develop collaborative relationships and influence within team and across functions, even without direct reporting relationship, adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group 
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, mentoring and developing staff to perform at high levels and holding team accountable for achieving business goals and objectives. 
  • Comfortable with managing conflict and responding to customer problems with a sense of urgency. 
  • Ability to demonstrate success in managing multiple tasks while under tight deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated experience in some or all of the following areas: guard force scheduling and management, conducting security advances, training security officers, responding to security emergencies, physical security project management, crowd management and writing security policy.  

Special Requirements

  • Supervision: Building Security officers.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, have split days off, work weekends and holidays in a 24 X 7 environment. 
  • General physical requirements such as lifting 25 lbs., standing for long periods, walking long distances, bending and constant motion is often required. 
  • This position requires a valid California State driver’s license.
  • Must pass a physical fitness examination.

$36$40 USD
