As Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer for Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment), Kimberly Kerns oversees all communications activities across the Company’s portfolio of assets, which includes a wide array of venues and entertainment brands spanning some of the world’s most important entertainment markets.
Ms. Kerns is responsible for all aspects of public, corporate and financial communications, including the development and execution of effective strategies that advance the Company’s key priorities, strengthen its brands and protect its assets. In this role, she provides senior counsel to the executive management team regarding public issues and serves as the Company’s chief spokesperson for all important press matters. In addition, Ms. Kerns oversees communications activities for Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. (MSG Sports), which became a standalone public company in April 2020 when The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) separated its sports and entertainment businesses. She also leads financial communications for MSG Networks Inc., which became a standalone public company in 2015 following the spin-off of MSG.
Ms. Kerns joined MSG in 2012 as Senior Vice President, Communications. Over her tenure, she has played an integral role in shaping the communications strategies for some of the most important and high-profile events and announcements in the Company’s history. This has included MSG Entertainment’s spin-off from MSG; the Company’s plans for its state-of-the-art MSG Sphere venues in Las Vegas and London; and investments in Tao Group Hospitality and Boston Calling Events. Other highlights include the three-year Transformation of the Madison Square Garden Arena; the acquisition and sale of the Forum in Inglewood, CA; and MSG’s spin-off from MSG Networks.
Prior to MSG, Ms. Kerns spent over 10 years at Cablevision Systems Corporation. In her last role as Vice President, Corporate Communications she helped drive the Company’s corporate strategy, financial performance and key corporate initiatives, which included its spin-off of MSG and AMC Networks Inc. Before Cablevision, Ms. Kerns’ experience includes working at high-profile public relations firms, including Burson-Marsteller and Bozell Sawyer Miller Group.
Ms. Kerns received a BA in Communications from Florida State University.
