Who are we hiring?
The Manager Performance Marketing will drive effective and efficient improvements across Performance Marketing campaigns (comprised of paid media and email marketing) that are core to all MSG business strategies including Rockettes, Concerts & Bookings, New York Rangers, and New York Knicks. This role develops best-in-class media plans and email marketing initiatives, along with KPI frameworks, that apply business insights to support channel and spend optimizations, reporting out results regularly and forecasting near- and long-term performance to achieve business goals. As well, the Manager Performance Marketing will work cross-functionally with Marketing Strategy, Business Insights, Creative and other internal teams and manage external media agencies to implement paid media across all channels (i.e., Programmatic, Paid Social, Search, OOH, etc.) in support of these goals.
What will you do?
- Develop strategic multi-channel media plans designed to drive conversion and awareness, and present data-focused, results-oriented media plans to brands and key stakeholders
- Establish media goals and objectives, channel roles and responsibilities with KPIs, and learning agendas with testing and measurement plans
- Execute media campaigns in-house and/or with external media agencies across multi-channels of: Programmatic, Paid Social, Search, Online Video, Out-of-Home, Audio, and emerging media
- Manage paid media budget by: (1) continually optimizing spend levels and media mix strategy to achieve targeted KPIs; and (2) work with Finance to manage invoices, budget pacing and any spend fluctuations
- Collaborate with Marketing Strategy, Business Insights, Creative and Ticketing to provide insights and learnings that help holistically bring together Performance Marketing strategies (i.e., segmentation, media, email)
- Establish formal and frequent cadence of performance reporting through development of KPI dashboards and live meeting forums (i.e., weekly Sports executive and Performance Marketing meetings)
- Lead the day-to-day management of client and partner management, inclusive of internal and external key stakeholders, ad agencies, media vendors, data platforms, and measurement solutions
- Create and maintain media specific documents, such as flowcharts and budgets
- Provide thought leadership on trends, innovations, and changes that affect media buying
What do you need to succeed?
- 3+ years’ experience in media planning, executing measurement and reporting, either in-house or at an agency
- Must possessive Performance Marketing acumen - both traditional and digital media channels - and have proficiency in working in advanced data-driven media approaches, particularly with how paid media drives sales and conversion
- Understanding and execution in media platforms and dashboards like Meta Business Manager, TikTok, Google AdWords, DV360, SA360
- Proven understanding of standardized analytics tools and dashboards (Salesforce Datorama, Tableau) analyzing data and insights and how to optimize media performance
- Experience managing Performance Marketing budgets: at minimum, ability to pair with data and analytics approaches to maximize return on ad spend
- Direct experience managing agencies and holding them accountable to KPIs and business outcomes
- Knowledge of current media advertising landscape, industry trends and marketing attribution models
- Proven ability to collaborate, plan and execute at both a strategic and operational level cross-functionally
- Ability to translate big picture opportunities into actionable strategies (i.e., extract quantitative and qualitative insights to improve campaigns and develop data-driven center of excellence)
- Effective communicator with ability to build trust and engagement, and act as a subject matter expert and influencer at all levels
- Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills, including storytelling skills to senior audiences
- Self-starter who manages timelines, deals effectively with pressure and is highly organized and detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects concurrently
